Snorkeling In Perhentian Island

Hi, welcome back to Tourism Malaysia. In this post, I'm going to talk about the main activities in Perhentian Island, and so with Redang Island. This is the most memorable moment there. What kind of activity, snorkeling. Basically everyone go there, either Perhentian or Redang, they will snorkeling there. Because the water there are so clear, and snorkeling is irresistible.

There are tons of fishes in sea there, you can feed the fishes with bread in your hand. You can even catch those fishes, but this is only if you know how to catch. However, you can't bring back those fishes, they are protected by laws.

See, we're all ready for snorkeling. The one who sit on the deck is the beach boy who lead our trip. The beach boys there are very funny and they jokes all the time. They're very friendly, and I'm sure you will have a nice trip if you are planning to go for Redang and Perhentian Island.

This is our first snorkeling spot. If I'm not mistaken, this site is called Blue Lagoon, located in Perhentian Island. This is where we all start learning how to snorkeling after the beach boys gave us short lecture. Look at the clear water, and the beautiful surrounding. Looking back at these pictures remind me of how fun the trip was.

This photo above shows the crystal clear water of Perhentian Island. The water is equally clear as in Redang Island. The only difference between these two beautiful islands is on their beaches. You can see there are fishes swimming in the picture above. Imagine that you're one of us, joining our snorkeling activity, and you can see fishes swim across you. It is such a wonderful experience.

This is the photo I like the most. Paying around when snorkeling. Doing so crazy stunt during snorkeling. So now you have the idea how fun the snorkeling trip was. It is truely a nice experience. If you ever come to Malaysia, be sure to visit these islands, Redang and Perhentian.

The above are just some of the photos taken during our snorkeling trip. Actually there are still more about snorkeling. We've been snorkeling in the Shark Point in Perhentian. Where you could see real big sharks in the open sea. The sea there is very deep, and the current also very strong. However, this is the habitat of the sharks. If you're lucky, then you can see sharks swimming there. Just like me, I'm a lucky guy, I saw those sharks, but my friends didn't.

Another great spot for snorkeling in Perhentian Island is the Turtle Point. Here you can see big turtle when you're snorkeling here. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos taken in the Shark Point and Turtle Point though. What a disappointment.

Pulau Perhentian or Perhentian Island

Intro To Perhentian Island

Great, this is another great island in Malaysia that you must visit. Pulau Perhentian or Perhentian Island is located very near to Redang Island. And it is quite similar with Redang Island. Therefore, if you ever visit Redang, you can pay a visit to Perhentian. Perhentian Island is also a great place for snorkeling. The beautiful beaches and crystal clear water can fight with that of Redang.

This is the boat that is available in Perhentian Island. And the boat trip is great, you will feel the breeze of the sea wind and the sunshine when taking this boat. If the wave is big, then you will have an amazing experience taking this boat, its fun and its great. If you take boat to Redang from Perhentian, an approximately 30 minutes boat trip is require. This is consider quite a short distant between this two island.

Look, Perhentian Island is actually made up of two islands. They are, Perhentian Besar (Big Perhentian) and Perhentian Kecil (Small Perhentian). You can go both of these islands, they are very near to each other. For Perhentian Besar, more local traveler are there, which means that most of the visitors there are Malaysian. And for Perhentian Kecil, more overseas tourists are there. Both of the islands are beautiful and have the same clear sea water.

Redang Island - More More Tea Inn

More More Tea Inn

The More More Tea Inn is located in Redang Island, just near to the Laguna Resort. You can see it even from far away before you reach Redang.

See? This is the beautiful More More Tea Inn. Before this, I'm not sure how long ago, but before it is a cafe or restaurant type of shop house. But now it has became souvenirs shop. Those souvenirs inside are quit cute and pretty as well. And the price still consider reasonable. It is best if you can buy some souvenirs for your friends and told them your experience in Redang.

Like what I told you before, Sammy Cheng and Richie Ren did filming in Redang Island before. So this is the prove. Look at the board, "The exact location was also make famous in Hong Kong movie 'Summer Holiday' starring Sammi Cheng and Richie Ren." It was a nice and romantic movie, and the movie theme song is so famous until you can even hear it oftenly in Redang Island (sang by someone else there).

This is the night view of More More Tea Inn. Its definitely a perfect place besides the sea. There are lots of activities by the seaside at night. Because it is an open sea, you can see the beautiful sky without any obstacles, and its so amazing that you can see a lot of stars there, and i mean A LOT.

This is the LOVE shape of flowers beside More More Tea Inn. And trust me, every couple who went there will take a photo there. Well, since I'm still single, so I just took the 'empty' photo with nobody inside. The time I went there, lots of couple are rushing to snap their photos with their lovers there. Sometimes you even need to queue!

Redang Island - Marine Park

Redang Island Marine Park

This is the look of Redang Island Marine Park. Yea, if you go to Redang, this is a must visit place for you. I believe that every of the tours there will include a trip to this marine park. It is a wonderful place for all the marine life there, works as a sanctuary.

So you see, this is how we snorkelling there. A staircase lead down to the sea, and if you snorkel around that area, you can definitely sees tons of fishes swimming here and there. All those fishes will surround you, there are fishes everywhere. You can get some bread from those beach boys and feed those fishes there. And trust me, it will be an amazing experience feeding fishes there. Lots and lots of fishes are there, all waiting for you to feed them.

See? There are plenty of fishes there in the marine park. The only thing that I regret is that I forgot to bring my camera to this marine park, I leave my camera on the boat. What I have with me is the underwater camera which is not available to make it into softcopy. Therefore I have to find photos from other sites and explain them here. If there are links on those pictures, you can feel free to visit them.

This is the Redang Marine Park view from far away. So what kind of fishes you can see there? There are a lots. And I don't know names for fishes, I just know some which are more famous. You can see barracudas there, and the most amazing is this, you can see it there right below the marine park. It hides under the pillars (columns) of the park.

You can see this thing under the marine park. Its called the Eel fish. Its body is very long, the one under Redang marine park has got around 1 to 2 meters long.

These are the barracudas, they have long mouth just like saw fish. LOL. So, the Redang marine park is a must visit place if you ever go to Redang Island. And learn one thing from me, bring your cameras along, and if possible, buy an underwater camera, just around RM50 (low quality). But the things that inconvenient is that you got no idea where to keep your cameras when you're off to snorkelling. Maybe those beach boys can keep for you.

Pulau Redang (Redang Island)

Intro To Pulau Redang

This is going to be my first post, and I'm going to write about Redang Island, or in Malay, we called it Pulau Redang. Redang is rated as one of the most beautiful island in the world! Wow, Malaysia has got great place to visit. This beautifully beautiful island is located 45km off coast from Kuala Terengganu. Once you are in the jetty of Kuala Terrengganu, a boat trip of approximately 45minutes will be required to get there.

Look, this is the beautiful beach of Redang Island, this beach is called Redang Long Beach. I have been there personally. And I can explain how fun the trip was, how amazing the scenery there. Redang is indeed a nice place for you and family to have fun together, relax from the rushing life of city. The first thing you will agree with me if you are there is the beautiful beach of Redang Island.

Look at the sand of Redang Long Beach. Its sandy white, and the water there is crystal clear. You can even see baby shark when you swim in the sea, of course, the baby shark here is not dangerous. I'm not sure why, maybe the species here in Malaysia is not that wild. LOL. You can go there and experience yourself. And trust me, when you swim in the sea side of Redang Island, you definitely can see baby shark, Nemo (clown fish), and many other marine life. If you got no fate and can't meet with these fishes, simply ask the beach boys (tour guides there) to catch one for you!

The above picture show you how relaxing the situation there is. Imagine that you're there and laying on one of the benches there. Feel the breeze of the sea wind, the sunshine of the sun. What a perfect life will be.

Don't worry, this is just the introduction to Redang Island. More will be talk. Frankly, there are so many places of interest in Malaysia, Redang is one of my favourite. I myself have to admit the beautiful beach and the crystal clear water there. So what are the activities there in Redang Island? Diving, snorkelling, swimming (for sure), volleyball (famous sport there), cannoning, and a lot more, and, fishing is not allowed! All the marine life there is protected by law, you can be fine if you snatch one back home.

This is the More More Tea Inn, if you are Chinese, then you should know who Richie Ren and Sammy Cheng Are. They are Hong Kong and Taiwan pop stars, and together they had filmed a movie in Redang Island. And More More Tea Inn is where they stayed. You definitely have to visit More More Tea Inn if you went to Redang. Its so famous that I believe your beach boys will bring you there. If you're lucky, you can listen someone there singing Richie Ren's song about Redang Island, nice!
